ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has taken all preventive measures against the outbreak of dengue fever and has directed all the health facilities in the ICT rural areas to take necessary measures in this regard. According to a press release issued on Saturday, District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Amirzada Khan has said after reported suspected cases of dengue fever from Taxilla and Rawalpindi District, the ICT Health Department has launched a vigorous public health education drive in the rural areas. He said 350 lady health workers had been activated to conduct door-to-door public awareness in rural area and educate the community about the preventive measures against dengue fever. He said the preventive measures included not to allow water stagnate even at small places and utensils and keep water covered in kitchen and washrooms, use of gauze in windows and doors to prevent mosquitoes entry, use of mosquitoes repellents and proper collection and disposal of garbage.
