Injury Sidelines Manchester City Star Robinho For Four Weeks

Manchester City have been dealt a blow with the news that Brazilian forward Robinho is set to miss the next four weeks due to an ankle injury.

The former Real Madrid man picked up the knock whilst on international duty with Brazil and, according to skysports.com, he has now been diagnosed with a stress fracture of the ankle.

The injury forced the 25-year-old to miss yesterday’s tumultuous win over Arsenal but he now looks set for a longer spell on the sidelines and is expected to miss the next four weeks of the season.

That means that Robinho is out of next weekend’s local derby against Manchester United and will also miss forthcoming games against Fulham, Aston Villa and West Ham.

However, after winning their opening four games of the season the Citizens will be confident they can cope without their record signing.

Mark Hughes’ side are currently third in the table and having bagged four goals against the Gunners on Saturday, certainly do not appear to be lacking in firepower. Link...
