PAC takes note of KPT land scandal

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Saturday took notice of media reports about the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) land scam and directed the Ports and Shipping secretary to present a complete record to the committee within a week.

Sources said PAC Chairman Nisar Ali Khan had taken notice of reports that the KPT was facing pressure from the Centre to withdraw its claim of ownership of its land in favour of some individuals.

The PAC will hold its regular session from September 28, which will continue until October 2.

The committee will take up audit paras of various ministries, including the law and justice, human rights, defence, defence production, civil secretariat (FATA), the Federal Board of Revenue, the Cabinet Division, labour and manpower and petroleum. Link...
