LAHORE: Punjab Health Department has confirmed 34 dengue patients in Punjab in the last nine months.
A spokesman of the Health Department said on Monday there was no epidemic of dengue fever in Punjab and only 34 cases had been reported from January to September from all over the province and all the patients had been successfully treated. He said out of 34 cases, only 24 patients of dengue were from Lahore.
The spokesman said six cases had been reported in Rawalpindi, one in Gujrat, Khanewal, Sahiwal and Sheikhpura. He said appropriate arrangements had been made for diagnosing and treating of dengue patients in all the hospitals in Lahore and the hospital administrations had been alerted to immediately set up isolation wards whenever required.
