MINGORA: Important Taliban leader Sher Muhammad Qasab died in captivity on Sunday from wounds sustained during a gunbattle last week, said the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), as security forces killed eight Taliban in Swat. Qasab had a Rs 10 million bounty on his head. The ISPR said Qasab was an active member of the Tehreek Nafaz-e-Shariat-e-Muhammadi (TNSM) and had joined Swat Taliban chief Maulana Fazlullah. Separately troops killed eight Taliban in Swat and arrested another 48. Among those arrested was also a first cousin of former Taliban spokesman Muslim Khan, who is already in custody. Link...
